RHT conducting Green Building project in Shady Cove
Energy efficiency is a growing industry that affects the desirability of a piece of real estate for years to come. The general consumer on a commercial and residential level has become more and more interested in ways to conserve energy for many reasons including the reduced cost of monthly expenses. Currently RHT Energy Solutions is working on a project for just this purpose. Angalee Sutton, Green Building Outreach Manager, is assisting in encouraging the community of Shady Cove to learn and implement green building practices in new construction and remodels. There are a vast number of programs that, together with those offered by the local utility companies, can help maximize the financial incentives to make positive community changes for a healthy, energy efficient environment. The project is going to include the building of a new residential dwelling showing products available to not only have an Earth Advantage rated home, but a long term cost efficient investment. The goal of the project is to educate the public by means of open houses, classes, educating high school and college students, internet marketing, and civic clubs. By the end of the project, the desired result is a community better educated and excited about energy efficiency obtainable by anyone who wants to implement such practices on a realistic level.
