Federal Incentives
The federal government provides incentives for energy conservation and renewable energy projects. For example, the "Commercial Building Tax Deduction" created by the Energy Policy Act of 2005 is currently available through December 31, 2013. State and local governments who are attempting to improve their energy efficiency, reduce their consumption and use fewer fossil fuels may be eligible for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 stimulus funds.
